Our construction-grade HPMC is manufactured from natural plant fibers through etherification. It appears as a white or off-white powder and dissolves in cold water to form a transparent colloidal solution. Key properties include:
Excellent water retention: Slows down moisture evaporation in mortar, providing sufficient time for cement and gypsum hydration while reducing cracking risks
Moderate thickening effect: Improves sag resistance of mortar, facilitating vertical surface application
Enhanced workability: Makes mortar smoother and easier to apply, suitable for both manual and machine application
Non-ionic structure: Highly compatible with cement, gypsum, lime and other cementitious materials, ensuring system stability
Main Application Areas:
Construction-grade HPMC is widely used in dry-mix mortar systems:
Cement-based plastering and masonry mortars
Tile adhesives (extending open time for easy tile positioning)
External thermal insulation system basecoat and adhesive mortars
Gypsum-based mortars (lightweight plaster, joint fillers, etc.)
Self-leveling mortars
